Ps2 Pad Converter that works on Ps4

@zaf you havent had any problems playing against people with this at all right?

Im tagging TO's on twitter asking them about this and they seem a little skeptical right now. We also need to test a way to make it where the wireless controller isnt needed or this is useless for EVO.
Havent been able to test this yet.
Needs testing.

Hmm alright im just skeptical about ordering this without knowing. Im thinking that with a USB splitter and maybe the MKX PDP pad that this could actually work. I just dont have a good way to test it.

A fat woman came into the shoe store today...
Am I understanding correctly? You need a separate, wired PS4 pad connected at all times while using this converter?

Does it work for PC? If you've tested that at all

EDIT: just read the amazon q's, sadly it doesn't

Using an xbox 360 converter like this one on pc http://www.amazon.com/Black-Controller-Adapter-Converter-Cable/dp/B00CZ7NCAQ should work As it emulates an xbox 360. I use this on pc for mk9. Haven't tested it on mkx as i am waiting for my new video card to come in the mail. Maybe someone here tested it already but imo it should work as i use this for most pc games.

EDIT: I will try to test it tonight and reply if I get in from work early

I have a PDP pad. You can't sync this to that pad. I've tested

This is works because the driver lets you use any generic usb pad. These convertors use to work on ps3 before they were they were patched out. This was mentioned a long time ago as something that would work with the driver.

Hey guys I have bad news.

NO ONE ORDER THIS

I was able to get my hand on a 2nd Ps4 Pad.

When there are 2 separate Ps4 pads connected and the converter plugged in. The converter fights for the profile.

So throughout a match as buttons are being pressed, the profile log in page consistently comes up.

Sorry everyone, didnt get to test this prior. Didnt hear anything about this before and didnt see any reason why it wouldn't work as I played with @Jer with his Qanba stick plugged in with 2 seperate PS4 pads plugged in.

This sucks.

Guess I should close the thread?

IF you use one of the prefirmware patch ps2 to ps3 converters that had a dedicated home button, you could probably get this to work. Cause what you need to get the profile set is hitting of the the home button.

Also have you used generic usb pads that allow for d inputs such as the logitech f310 (http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-940-000110-Gamepad-F310/dp/B003VAHYQY ) or those generic usb saturn pads with the driver? They may or may not work as well.

First I want to kind of explain why the first converter was sort of recognized by the ps4. The Lab zero driver will work for controller that represent themselves as generic usb pads, per the developer:

"Any stick that reads as a Generic USB GamePad or Joystick will work," Bartholow said in an email to Polygon. "This covers MadCatz TEs, which are the majority of what the fighting game community uses right now, as well as many other smaller brands and custom options such as the GodLike Controls' Cthulhu boards."

During the ps3 days sony got lazy and used general usb protocols for controllers with no real security. S This is why so many home-brew usb devices were able to work on the ps3 and convertors were easy to make. Even early licensed sticks were made this way. Through firmware updates sony was able to patch much of these out. But this driver in order to recognized early Madcatz TE sticks had to make it so that would recognized these general protocols. That is why the convertor in the first post was recognized. That first convertor lacks a home button. A home button was needed on convertors after firmware updates to help pick a profile on the ps3. Same thing Zaf is now experiencing.

An example of any early convertor with a home button might be the Real PS2/PS3 convertor. Most of those will probably be hard to find because after the firmware updates patched them out, manufacturers stopped making them.

I have 2 of them, 1 by Pelican and another by Sumoto. Not sure how they could fix Zaf's issues though, I used them recently on the PS3 and the home buttons worked.

No it won't work because it does not represent itself as a generic usb pad, but as a dual shock 3. Dual shock 3 controllers are not recognized by this driver, that is why you cannot use a dual shock 3 to play mkx with this driver.
