I struggle to do Kano's bf3 midair and also any input that has a dbf. I'm trying to convince myself it's the controller because I has no problems with these inputs in mk9, but it might very well be an mkx thing.

I feel like the directional input has to be put in before you hit the button, so a bf1 works when it's put in as b, f, 1 and doesn't work when it's b, f+1.

Doing B+4 inputs on P1 side is a pain in my ass.
Trying to do IAFB's with Liu fails a lot on P1 side, but works pretty good on P2 side. I've got Input Shortcuts on(which helps a lot for P1).

Not sure if it has something to do with the DS4 controller.

Just something to be aware of. He mentions it in the video but if you buffer a special after a string and then hit a direction before it comes out it will cancel the special.

Also turn off input shortcuts and release check. Make sure when you are doing specials you get the directions in clean. Specifically the direction right before the face button. For example, if you have a special like db2. Make sure you hit BACK clean. If you do d, d+b, 2 it won't come out (It will if you have input shortcuts on, but this only works in the neutral game, if you try to cancel a string into a special, you must input the special clean whether input shortcuts is on or not)

You need to do d,b,2 OR d,d+b,b,2 OR d+b,b,2

Sometimes. There are some cancel timings that also throw me off a bit. I wish cancels were more friendly ala Street Fighter, but I'm going to invest time in training mode regardless.

Yes, especially with the fkin bicycle kick & sand trap inputs ....Air projectiles are also a pain to do. The controls just feels unresponsive sometimes..
I turned negative edge off but turning off shortcuts doesn't help sh!t imo, when I turn it off Mileena won't even roll anymore lol

I'm using a keyboard and am having the biggest trouble with one of Kung Lao's most common strings: B3,2,1 - DF1 - .... I've seen this used as the beginning of a bunch of strings, and I just can't get it to work. I finish inputting the string well before the animation has completed, but to no avail, the spin always starts after the other kombatant has been knocked down.
It's all in the timing. As soon as you see the last string input connect (1) than do the input for the spin. I'ts not like MK9 where you can buffer the input. What till 1 connect than quickly input the DF1.

the 1+2 interactable thing is fucking annoying i hate that they put that in. also input shortcuts don't do shit, i barely notice a difference really. I have a problem either way, inputs are really weird in this game. I'm also having trouble getting consistent armor wakeups, the wakeup almost never comes out meterburned.
My sticks are only 6 buttons so the 1+2 is the inky way to use interactables

Dvorahs run cancels are a bitch for me:

f11,df1(hold 1)ffR2 into whatever. What really gets me is I tend to release the 1 too early.

Thats just my execution though, I havent had too many other issues.

I'm having no problem with combo inputs. I'm just having trouble adjusting to MKX's "no blocking during dashing" thing. MK9 had the perfect game mechanics for me.

If you're having trouble with inputs, mess with the three settings beneath the general control scheme to see if it alleviates the issue.

Personally I quickly discovered that release check was a shit awful thing to leave on, as my low pokes canceled into the wrong specials every time. For example, one of the first things I tried to do with Kitana was d4 into db1, but instead of db1 I would get db4 every damn time.
