Combo List - Kenshi No Beard Zone - Frothy's Kenshi Kombo Emporium

Aight so after @CryophobIKroniK posted that uppercut combo a few posts up, I got an idea to combine that with 22 to get standing resets in the corner. Video is rendering now, should be uploaded and ready in 2-3 hrs assuming no catastrophes happen.

Combo for possessed looks like this: Any starter (B32, 421, 21, b1, etc.) into EX DB4B, Instant NJP, Instant JI.2, Instant d2 out of corner, 22 back into corner. Both characters are at 0 and you're at great range to mix up with low, grab, poke, or once they know what's happening armor bait/AA or whatever

Could be sick, maybe it's trash, iunno, play with it and see how you like it, im sure that there are ways to make this work for balanced, but as always it seems like kenjutsu can get fukt and probably not be able to use this at all QQ
Yes that's good

(balanced) f32 db1~RN f32 bf1/db1 32%. 36% if you EX the last bf1/db1
(Possesed) f32 EX db4 f32 bf3 35% or f32 EX db4 f32 EX db4 43 bf3 47%
this is all mid screen. also how do you Njp during a Run?
You can't NJP directly out of run. You should block cancel then NJP.

Those uppercut combos are fucking hilarious. Also db1 into d1 in the corner is a pretty nasty link -- are you able to hit that consistently?
I think the frames to connect this is about the same as the rk D1 in kenjutsu but, for me, it is visually harder to time.

Hey,

Looks like b1~rk is a pretty good starter for balanced, coz the range is huge and b1 has strange damage scaling (better than some other starters), also you do not need to use run with this starter. Strange, but damage will be less with Jp before b1~RK. B1 is very unsave, which is the bad side.

Didn't know if anyone has talked about it yet but, in kenjitsu after a db4 you are in an amazing position for a d4 xx df1 or whatever you want. It hits on the absolute tip. Pretty cool.

Hello All!
Noob here so go easy on me. I hope i dont bother you guys which what i know for you is a really basic question. But im starting and really wish to get better at this.
i read ~ is a cancel. But i dont get understand what you mean, when you place right after a string. I know with a Special is hitting R2 (PS4), but...

Eg. your starters, what does these cancel mean? what im i supposed to do?
b1~rk,
114~rk,

Thanks in advance.

1 - x or square
2 - y or triangle
3- a or cross
4 - b or circle
It means you press back x or square then right after you do that do down back x or square which is known as rising karma (rk). This is called canceling a normal. You input a special move while a normal is out and it combos them.

Pressing r2 or whatever your block is while you input a special is called an ex. So it might be something like b1 ~ ex db1. This means you need to press your block as you hit the x or square to enhance It. Also you might see something like db4 mb. Mb is some thing called a meter burn where you hit the block button after the special move has started to get a different effect then pressing it at the start.

Hope that helps some

@FrothyOmen I got some corner tech and combos for balanced for you. One is to punish people for jumping or trying to attack you to get out of the corner EX spirit charge, (this is a really tight link) B32, F32, spirit charge. That is 32%. Then there is F32, rising karma NJpunch, f32, EX rising karma, 22, telefury (input has to be done backwards and can be EX for 46%) it totals out to 44%. Jump in punch doesn't add any damage. And here is an XRAY combo. F32 rising karma, run, (if you have them in corner run isn't necessary) f32 XRAY, it totals to 55%, jump in punch scales damage to 54% hopefully this all proves useful to my fellow balanced kenshi players

Thanks for your answer Gunlag18!.
So i just have to do the b1 and the Rk right away? the "~" doesnt mean i have to do anything in between?
I wonder then why with the Ninjutsu Kenshi, when i do 114 and RK right away, the RK executes before and i cant get the hit on air? With the Balanced i can do it (114 followed by RK), but with the ninjutsu it feels like i have to time it or something. (I have release and input off on the settings).

I was confused with the ~, since it means cancel i thought i had to do something in between. And why would they call it "cancelling a normal" if 114 is a string on its own and you are not cancelling it.

it's called a cancel becuase you're cancelling the recovery animation of the 114 where you return to standing in order to instantly do a special, there is in fact an animation cancel happening

Has anyone experimented with the block/hit option select from a string? I tried a few of Kenshi's go-to strings and I can't seem to get it to work (was trying with Rising Karma in Balanced). Curious if it's possible at all with Kenshi.
