Question - Ninjitsu Ninjutsu Scorpion

Does anybody have any tips for Ninjutsu Scorpion? I frequented this forum for MK9 and Injustice help in the past but I'm not seeing anything on Ninjutsu. It seems that everyone here is only focusing on Inferno Scorpion. I am really interested in Ninjutsu. If anybody has any tips, combos, etc. please help me out. I'm kind of lost in what works and does not work for this variation at the moment.

After landing either a F2/B2, you can connect it with a F3~teleport combo shenanigans even at a far range. Ninjutsu is all about spacing your opponent so they're in constant fear of those 2 attacks. For now I'm ending combos with B121 to create space between Scorp and the opponent for another possible F2/B2 opportunity.

Just playing around in training it looks like B32F2 gives a hard knockdown and puts them right in the range for those two moves as well.

Be careful using B2/F2 too closely because they can be full combo punished. They become more difficult to punish the further the range is. Be sure to check out his Ninjutsu-specific combos, see which ones are safe on block and abuse them in rushdown.

It kinda frustrates me that F2 hits mid instead of overhead.
It's disappointing, but I understand it. Scorpion has so many more tools this time that I personally don't think he'll end up needing F2 overhead. His pokes alone make me so happy.
 
Ninjitsu revolves around good usage of F2 and B2, but the problem is both moves are unsafe on block. To make up for this you want to use a lot of tick throw setups. Tick throws condition the opponent to try a throw tech. After they're conditioned to the throw you mix-up with F2. Here's a basic flowchart I use:

- D4 on hit: Run xx Throw or F2
-D4 on block: Walk backwards and whiff punish with B2 if they press a button.
As far as strings go;

- B1, 2, 1: Safe on block, has slight push back, 2nd hit can be confirmed into Spear.
- B3, 2, F2: Unsafe on block, low starter, 2nd & 3rd hit offer hard knockdown.

B3, 2 on hit offers a great setup for a meaty F4.

Ninjutsu has that range with F2 and B2 for a reason, normals in MKX don't have many active frames, those 2 moves in particular does, it was meant to whiff punish normals on the screen when both characters are playing footsies, i will show something about it, i a near future.

I'm hoping to gather the best BnBs for Ninjutsu that would actually work online. I'm having lots of trouble with the Jip after the spear. Are you supposed to jump to the other side and cross up?

This is what im using

214 , DB3, 21,xx BF1
Now what works best Jip or Jp neutral?

I've been going neutral jump 2. Can connect a back 2 into jump in 3 teleport after. Best I've got so far.
 
Inferno has a crazy damage output with the minion grab and spear combination but the extra range and fear ninjutsu puts into opponents can't be ignored.

Hmm, I'm guessing because of volume (he's played more than anyone x2.5), but yeah. His big deal to me is how hard he can bait a launch at range and respond to jumps. Only a few other chars have the same sort of ability, but he can't net Inferno level damage without a meter.

It's hype seeing Scorp in a good spot tbh

Check the myriad of combo vids. Cross-up punch into combo ender, grab, vortex or ex-db3 combo.

yeah so far i've been maining kenshi and kung jin, but i took inferno out for a spin and oh my lord can he dish out the damage. plus his vortex is hit confirmable from any punish. too good
 
His damage is really awesome but you won't land it easy I'm on good players. They just know, but it opens up f2. You still get respected tho. Rounds in 2 and a half Combox is always good.

Backstep into launch has me spoiled In nInj. and nobody's wise to b32f2 or r42 because of the pushback.

I really wish Ninjitsu Scorp's b2 did some friggin damage and didn't scale so damn bad. Hellfire and Inferno have combo extenders with low demon and flame aura. You'd think Ninjitsu's b2 would be the equivelant combo extender in this variation, but adding a b2 in a combo makes things scale even worse. And it doesn't help it only does 3%. His damage is awful in this variation compared to the others.

I honestly think Ninjutsu is laughably bad compared to his other 2 variations. It doesn't have the damage potential of Inferno or the utility of Hellfire. It was the first style I was interested in, and I was quite disappointed with it. if f+2 ever becomes an overhead, I'd definitely reconsider though.
