Tech - Cassie Cage Cassie Cage - Compilation of Frame Data Fails...

So guys, I think it is time we make a single thread for all the screwed up frame data that we are slowly realizing surrounds our ass kicking, bubble gum chewing biaaatch. Please post anything regarding screwed up frame data here and I will compile a list that we can reference in the OP until it HOPEFULLY gets fixed someday.

b12: -6 *** Looks to have been corrected in the frame data table update ~4/26/15

112: -5 *** Looks to have been corrected in the frame data table update ~4/26/15

f33
: -8 *** Looks like frame data was corrected in the latest patch ~5/14/15

b212: -4 *** Looks to have been corrected in the frame data table update ~4/26/15

b212 d1+2: Probably -6 on block (Game shows -7, Lao EX Tempest Spin punishes, Regular Spin does not punish)

f34 (Hollywood): 0 *** Looks to have been corrected in the frame data table update ~4/26/15

  • Nerfed to -8 on block and special cancel has been removed RIP :p

d4 and b4 frame data: d4/b4 seem messed up in the table. d4 is listed as 20 frames and that is probably supposed to be for the sweep. b4 is listed as 8 frames which might be meant for the d4, however it doesn't seem to come out quite that fast...

These are off the top off my head I will test some stuff or add stuff to the thread later on when you guys have a chance to fill in some of the blanks you may have tested out already.

Hollywood's F3,4 is listed as 0 but when I did the jump test (holding up after blocked string then pausing to see height differences, higher = more advantage) Cassie was slightly higher than the opponent so I think it's like +1 or so.

Yeah good call that is definitely another one because I remember off that string it was suuuper easy to armor through most stuff with ex nut punch.

1 frame difference (in cassie's favor) could be caused by this new "normal/reversal" punishing thing. When the opponent is not grabing or reacting with a special they get 1 frame penalization added to their attack/movement.

That might explain why I couldn't punish Cassie's b1,2 (-5) with her own 242 (5f) ?

As I understand this, all moves that can be reversals (specials, throws, XRAYS) CAN indeed just frame punish. Normal moves will have to take into account the 1f that happens when you let go of block.

Well you can always escape throws but you get my point....

How's my volume?
12 is not -5 on block, at least -3 as you can block a reversal Tempest ex spin after it.
112 is -4, not -5, it can be punished by Tempest ex spin, but not Reptile's ex slide.
b212 at least -3 on block instead of -4, same reason.
Single shot at least -3 instead of -4.

As far as I've tested only 2 moves punish b12 and both require meter which is so important. Tempest at first glance isn't even that great for Kung lao compared to buzzsaw (maybe in this specific mu.) Also if you're not confident b12 will hit you can use meter to do B1~Ex Bf1 which is a true blockstring. Against kung low you can just do b12 ~ex db2 which I don't believe he can punish.

242 seems to only be -5 because Kung's Buzzsaw Ex spin couldn't punish it but reptile/tempest could.

You can armour in between b1,2 xx ex gunshots so it's not a true blockstring. But it will beat out any buttons so it's still pretty good.

I know, but just B1 xx Ex Gunshot is a true blockstring though. But that's basically only needed vs Kunglao and Repitile tbh.

Also, according to Tom Brady's system guide, b12 would technically be -6 since it can be punished by reversal DB2 by Cassie, 112 would be -5 etc...

As expected, crazy hard to space it properly unfortunately... :(

If we master this though, free combozzz :D
Thanks for taking the time to do this.
No problem, a few of those I was like "hey wtf I was spaced out so far" I think it may also have to do with which way her hitbox is slightly shifted since they move around as the character moves. Maybe slight enough to make it random whiff from max distance...dunno.
