Button Check

One of the best features of MKX has to be the 4 presets available that cannot be changed at all. Then 2 custom for people that don't like the 4 presets that are available. After watching the GGA stream and hearing 16 bit talk about button checks. Couldn't agree more about what a waste of time buttons checks really are. MK9 and Injustice had countless minutes of wasted wasted time performing combos not knowing if your console defaulted or swapped buttons. Whatever the case was. But no more in MKX.

Yesterday I was at a local in the Seattle area and a lot of the people didn't realize this was even a feature. So hopefully this post will shed some light that it is in fact a feature.

What the I must be retarded. Where are the two custom?
I am trying to change somehow the interactable to NOT be 1+2, but a separate button.
Because I am used to MK9 to dial-a-combo so fast that my 212's usually end up using the interactable mid combo and it's extremely frustrating.

Edit Presets > Edit > Custom 1 or Custom 2. Or you can select the 4 presets that cannot be changed.

Hit the right button four times; it will scroll into view.

Button checks are done for two things. The first is to confirm that the config your config is correct, while rare it can happen that the config that someone makes a mistake when they configure their buttons. The second reason is to make sure that the controller that they're using is working properly. I've seen people end up playing with a faulty button because they didn't check, so this is a concern.

This means that you cannot really get rid of button checks. What can be done is to limit the amount of time that they take. In other words, players should just check that their buttons/stick are working and then either rematch or go back into character select. They shouldn't be doing combos during button checks.
