At the moment non-MB teleport seems restricted either being an anti-jump-in option (although if it's anything like MK9 people will learn very quickly not to jump in on Mileena) or something to try and end the match with if the opponent is caught throwing a raw projectil. Mid and end combo it definitely has its uses but it seems only the MB one can be used to start combos.

I'd be happy with it being +lots on hit but didn't link to anything so you could get some pressure going.

So was going through arcade ladder and discovered something nice. I ended a combo with teleport to be on top of Sub Zero. I then went F1 and he went EX Slide. I was happy to find that my F1 completely stuffed Zero's Slide. Since then I've tried it out in training mode and the timing is VERY tricky right now. Only landed it three of times out of like twenty attempts. However, I now wonder what other wakeups F1 can outright beat

For anyone interested the range of her low pokes from shortest to longest is: d3, d4, b4. The first two can be cancelled into specials.

edit: forgot to mention f4 which has the longest range of all as it advances. Needs to be cancelled into something though as it's stupidly unsafe on block.

And side note d3 and d4 can be cancelled into specials but roll doesn't combo with the d3,d4. :c

Lots. I'm sure it's her best meaty. Loads of active frames.
I think so. Managed to stuff an ex grab from Kotal online last night. Once I get a handle on all variations I will likely start researching into armoured wake-ups that can be stuffed across the cast.

You can do the d3/d4 again or mb roll for a low or overhead mix up. That tends to mess with people a lot.

Mileena has a hard time punishing/can't punish Thunder God Raidens safe lightning strings in the corner. If you experience this becareful.

It's very threatening, and most of her options lose to Raiden. Also, Raidens high burst thing (non ex) will beat telekick, ex telekick and roll when it starts up. It will also beat roll when it's EX'd.


You cannot punish Kung Laos whiffed spins his priority beats tele kick and roll.

(I'm currently figuring out ways to combat this.) videos coming soon.

So, is it safe to say Mileena is low to mid tier? I don't care much for tier lists but I have yet to play competitively so I interpret fun gameplay as effective gameplay. I'm seeing a lot of complaining about her which is a bummer because I love using her.

I guess I should be prepared to be frustrated online.

Imo shes at best just solidly average yeah. Her damage is higher than mk9 but she lost her best moves from it. She has to burn bar to get an overhead(f3 is trash). Her neutral game is pretty good in piercing with b12 which is completely safe on block despite the frame data saying otherwise, so its good to keep rocking that into hitconfirms. However like always all her specials are incredibly unsafe, and you won't get anywhere without taking risks using them so she is a continued also-ran.

She's def not low tier, she just requires more thinking to play than most characters due to most options being very unsafe.

I haven't been on since the patch but if that's true, she really didn't need that. Her damage was the one thing that kept her viable imo

I really don't know, if you could test it, it's f4, roll, njp, b12, 1+3, dd2 = 32%
Now it does like 28%.
I actually get 27% for that, although with b21 3+4 i get 28%
however if you do f4, roll, b3, tpkick air sai b12 1+3 you will get 32%

For posterity these are my BnB's from the other day

123, roll, b3, tpkick air sai, b21 1+3 = 34%
b12 roll, b3, tpkick air sai, b21 1+3 = 34%
roll, b3, tpkick air sai, b21 1+3 = 29%
ex tp kick, f23 roll, b21 2+4 = 34%
ex roll, dash under, njp, b21, 2+4 =27%
f343, tp kick air sai, f2 roll, b21 3+4 = 41%

These are the same damage pre patch and post patch anyway.

I Played the ESL MKX Pro League practice tournament #3 today and used Mileena <3 . There's some decent stuff in here but there was a little bit of input lag so naturally there was some dropped combos and missed punishes. Oh yea I finished 1st by the way, check it out.
