sorry i forgot to ask for help i am just wondering if any of those characters have anything in common(i was using hollywood Cassie Cage, Piercing Mileena and with D'vorah i was using swarm queen) i have not tried any other variations for any of the characters i mentioned so i dont know if i could like them more

My main was Baraka in MK9 and I'm trying to find a character with a similar options:
  • A safe string that that juggles, like Baraka's 2,2,1+2
  • A string that starts low and juggles (doesn't have to be safe on block)
  • A long-range tackle or slide that's not full-juggle punishable on block, like Baraka's qcf+2 blade charge at the right range
So far I've tried about 10 characters and I'm liking Raiden and Reptile.

Any other suggestions? I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the characters and variations.

I've narrowed it down to Erron Black and Kano. But I told myself I'd main Kung Jin and Reptile as well, and I found Sonya Blade(Covert Ops) and Goro to be pretty fun and I want to get serious with those two as well.

TBH, while in MK9 I had Kabal and in MKX I'm all Cassie, this game character design is soo good that I will end up trying almost everyone at some point.

Heart From Iron, Mind From Steel.
I've narrowed it down to Kung Jin, Erron Black, Goro, Kenshi, Cassie & Ermac (So not narrowed at all). I was a Smoke main but for whatever reason Kung Jin has been the one I picked up the fastest. I wanted to go Erron first but his standing 2 throws off everything for me. It's such a weird punch.

I was watching Chris G on stream last night and he was wrecking fools in ranked battle with many characters. The games been out for 2 days...how? I've put in probably 30 hours and am just starting to hit Bojutsu combos consistently, let alone learning a different variation or another character. Some folks are just good.

Fujin and Ermac for MK 11
Its tough but going with Hellfire scorp, his combos are most limited vs ninj and inferno ive noticed but still good. He does have some and the vortex reset in all 3 so thats good.

Ermac mos i love. Though his run cancel combos are a pain, especially online...arrgh.

Kung jin ancestral sticking with, not a combo heavy one but great for zoning and annoying to deal with.

Kano cybernetic and raiden displacer i intend to be secondaries.

Ive never struggled to pick a main in any game until now. I've managed to narrow my choices down to Scorpion and Cassie but this is so hard. I'm trying to weigh their pros, cons and potential and keep jumping back and forth. It's ridiculous how indecisive I feel.

I wanted to like Jax, Sub Zero, Takeda... But after trying them briefly, they didn't click with me like some of the other characters. I don't want to rule them out though, yet.

Characters that I liked after playing with them a few matches each, ROUGHLY in order:
Kung Lao, Reptile, Raiden, Mileena, Cassie, Kenshi, Johnny Cage, Liu Kang

I played some towers with Kung Lao (because framerate issues and such on PC, I dont want to go on ranked til they're fixed) and liked him a lot. But I feel like I should at least give some other characters a chance before I decide on a main.

Any insight greatly appreciated!

There are few characters and variations that I liked and I was planning to use them, but haven't tested all of them yet.

* My fingers aren't made for using a lot of 3 and 4

- Assassin Kitana
* Haven't tried out yet

- Hellfire Scorpion
* I like the idea of the tick damage
* My favorite character in the series
* The improvements to telepunch <3
* Point blank spears <3 "GET OVER HERE!" "I'm already standing next to you. Geez, no need to shout."
* RIP B2 launcher from MK9

- Broodmother D'vorah
* Haven't tested yet
* This one is getting annoyed

- Warlock Quan Chi
* Haven't tested out yet
* Shared place as my favorite character in the series.
* Does he still have insane mix strings?
* WOOLAY!

Long story short: I would prefer characters that excel in medium range, with good 50/50 or some nasty mind games. So - "No and I could use some help picking."

too smart to play MKX
Sub-Zero was my original main in MK9, dropped him for Raiden midway through. Then I started subbing Kenshi. But Kenshi in this game doesn't feel right to me. Raiden is still wicked cool for me but I think I'm back on the Sub-Zero wagon. Grandmaster and Unbreakable are insanely awesome. I just wish Cryomancer was a little more inspired.

Haven't gotten around to unlocking Shinnok or trying Takeda but I'm hoping I can keep it really simple and just stick with Sub-Zero. Do my inner child some justice.

I've narrowed it down to Scorpion and Raiden (yes I'm very old school). But I don't think I've got 6 variations in me. I think I'll ditch Hellfire from Scorpion and Master of Storms from Raiden and keep playing the rest.

What's very sad is that I have failed Quan Chi yet again (or maybe it's the other way round). He is my favorite MK character so he was the first one I tried. But I can't get myself to like any of his 3 variations. It's MK9 all over again. I also started MK9 with him but absolutely hated his play style. Ended up maining Sektor.

I mained Ermac and Smoke in MK9, but I'm struggling to find a new main for MKX. Ermac, in this game, just feels... I dunno, off. He seems clumsy, though it's probably just me. I haven't been able to get used to timing strings between TK moves. Ethereal and Piercing Mileena have been my go to variations so far. Ethereal seems to be most akin to MK9 Smoke playstyle, but I love the Piercing strings.
