General/Other - Kotal Kahn Can we just skip posting BnBs with damage boosts activated, please?

Unless we're doing damage totems mid-juggle, it seems kind of silly to me to be like "hory shet 98% combo pls nerf kotal" when it's reliant on situations and starters that never even actually happen. We already know how mostly irrelevant damage boost abilities are from MK9 (Rain, Quan, etc., barely even a factor of the characters) so posting combos whose merit is reliant on those boofs seems pointless to me.

Kotal players, can we keep the combos sane within actual footsies, counterhits, punishes, etc. and not with random 87 frame startup move after jump in punch with double damage boof applied?

This is how it always is. I pleaded with people last week to not include boosts, orJiPs...It's not about that though. They wanna show the most impressive combo damage like they're fucking special or something.

This should be a god damn forum rule. SERIOUSLY.

Edit: Or at least show the normal combo, and then include the damage from JIPS and boosts in text form after inputs.

Also, why dont we use the official combo thread for each character and not post a single thread for each single combo for just a "moment of glory"?
 
It's not a BnB when it is hella situational and unlikely to happen. BnB is not another word for combo, I think some people don't know that.

Wait, so it's impossible to use buffs in this game or something? Kotal's buffs don't have any ridiculous start-up they're about the same as Quan's Bat summon.

10% life for a damage boost is never worth the risk, just like 10% for skarlet's blood ball was never worth the risk, and the loss of blocking for rain's damage boost was never worth the risk. The only Kotal damage buff that is likely viable is the damage totem if you're ending combos in it or have proper setups for abusing it.

Past versions have shown that buffs are inconsistent at best. As fast as it may seem you often just don't get the chance, especially when you could have done something else that could be more useful, and the self damage really limits it more because it's hard to garuntee you land it. Which is why it's more likely to be used for chip-out then anything :p.
 
I don't think we should ignore combos that start with damage boosts activated because of this (at 1m48s):

If you whiff punish or commit & find a hit with f1 anywhere on screen, you can end up with meaty pressure and both damage boosts for just one bar. If the opponent makes the wrong decision while waking up, you get a punish combo that includes full sacrifice buff and a good chunk of damage totem buff, meaning actually it's totally plausible to be in a situation where you can find a combo while fully buffed. And if you do get a f1, & you do guess right on wakeup afterward, for reals, you should kill outright or get close enough to be real comfortable.

i dont even main kotal but seeing the damage buff combos is silly. just post the combo. if i want to see what it does with a damage buff ill do that myself. Also people lets not be uppty and spoiled with that "share" button, combo vids need notations. lol
