MKX allows you to train without using Variations!!

I was watching a video of someone breaking-down D'Vorah in Training Mode. They went to the practice options, and set their variations to "none". See for yourself:

As you can see, you can train without a variation! Your character will no longer have any variation-exclusive moves, there will be no variation name under the health meter, and the character will not have variation-exclusive cosmetics. For an example; when you are not using a variation with Kano, his cybernetics are green, instead of being Blue (Cutthroat), Yellow (Commando), or Red (Cybernetic).

So what do you guys think? I think it's pretty cool. Nothing major, but still cool!

I'm sure itll have its uses, but what impresses me the most is the fact that it was included at all. i would have just expected NRS to force you into choosing a variation before (or in) practice mode.

thats not an insult to NRS, in fact i wouldn't expect this from any company lol

Fujin and Ermac for MK 11
Nice. I bet next MK, if they bring back variations they'll do what boon hinted at having a 4th style which is essentially NO variations and more of a bare bones, H2H style, limited specials etc.

Pretty cool, it's nice to get a foundation of your base character first than work on variations.
Yup. Plus it would make character break-down videos WAY easier. You could do No Variation > Variation 1 > Variation 2 > Variation 3. You could explain how the base-character is, then explain their variations how to do Combos, Set-Ups, etc with them. Plus it's cool to see how the character looks without any variation-exclusive cosmetics!

Story NPCs confirmed playable :DOGE
This could bring proof of more dlc from in-game models you fought without variations aka, Rain, Baraka, Sindel.
LOL! I knew this would happen when I posted this! I mean, I guess it isn't impossible, but it's unlikely. Some people have already had the game for almost a week, and they have found nothing. On top of that...

The Story NPCs uses their MK9 moveset. It would be really weird for NetherRealm to include characters that hasn't really gotten that much work. Not only do they use their previous moveset, but they also use the same sounds. On top of all that, some of their sound effects and animations can look wonky. Plus their moveset is limited.

I know NetherRealm could come out with an update or something that adds them in, but we all know that isn't going to happen. Adding in free characters? No. If they were going to make Story NPCs playable, they would be future DLC. If that's the case, then yeah, it's possible then. But their entire moveset, and some parts of their model, would have to be redesigned. And we would have to wait months for that to happen (at least July). That's just what I think though.
