Kung Lao has only been revealed for a few days and has more messages in his forum than both Ferra/Torr and D'Vorah, and only 118 less than Scorpion. All original reveal characters.

Compared to other characters that will hopefully make the kung Lao is kinda boring. Everyone's entitled to an opinion. I just hope he is not as dumb as before.

I will do the same as i did in MK9 and as i do at EVERY MK game, i will play every single character, i will know all the tools, only then i will pick the one that suits my style better.

Although if Skarlet is a playable character in MKX i'm definitely going to main her, but i will still check all Cast, see how the combo, how they play, only then i will dig deep with my main.
 
I really hope MKX Lao isn't normalized due to the constant crying of online scrubs who couldn't adapt or punish a -40 on block and -60 on whiff spin, d1xxcombo punish tele kick or full combo punish a blocked dive kick lol.

I hear all this scrubs saying KL was OP in MK9 lol really?
I feel sorry for the people who still punish his teleports with d1. Nice advice...

I also noticed characters have only one or two moves that are universal with every variation so as far as I'm concerned that should be no different for KL in MK X. If Raiden doesn't have his teleport in every variation then neither should KL. I'm sure some KL fanboys will bitch but too bad, NRS's aim should be balance not "please make KL dominant for fanboys"

I heard that too, maybe they nerfed his spin? Notice we haven't seen it yet which makes me wonder you know? Maybe he has it on one variation this time? Who knows, or maybe when blocked this time it stuns him like Kabal blocked dash? You're that known Johnny Cage player guy right?

Me and @A F0xy Grampa have been theory crafting already from the little footage we have.

We think Tempest will be the overall starting point, as he has that same type of play style we would expect from MK9, with the specials at least. I think we can expect the dive kick wiff, possible meter burn teleport, mixing up 1 pressure with mids, and if the spin is still 6 frames, the his game is fundamentally the same, except in a new system.

We just need to figure out if he will have the same lack of a true fast mid and have to use the spin if its faster, and if not, then it won't matter, the spin will be a straight AA or cross over reverse input AA, one of only moves we have seen that looks like it can be used that way so far.

There was no footage of his spin move in tempest when held. I assume you can throw out spins at jump distance and cancel before it is blocked if you get it wrong, but who knows just yet...

I can only assume that his gameplay will be from knockdowns or full screen throws to set up a the spinning hat, and start with wiff dive kicks and any attacks from this. I can imagine that having a dive kick blocked whilst the hat is behind KL will make the opponent stagger or halt his punish as the hat will hit, unless the hat disappears once you block his dive kick.

Once we figure out the properties of that move, it may totally cover his teleport, which is what I hope it does, this will stop a problem with low hit box characters.

He seems have his F2 type move with the double flip kick animation (Hard knockdown?) his quick 1 jab animations and strings, but a new mid hitting reptile 312 string which might help his up close game, this is all speculation of course.

His Buzzsaw variation looks like it might have his low hat game back, but at this point, anyone from MK9 shouldn't have an issue with baiting low hats and punishing (assuming its punishable still). Also, I seem to remember his spin being present in his buzzsaw version.

think it was said on stream the hat trick hat goes away when he is hit,
dunno if that counts for the other ones aswell or maybe you'll still even have time to let a hat trick hat go after you seen your divekick was blocked before opponent can hit you, moved very fast in the vids
