Help me prepare for EVO 2015.

So I have registered to compete in MKX for evo 2015. However, I would like to avoid getting bounced out early. I am devoid of a local scene due to Super Arcade not having a location. I am wondering what I can do to be tournament ready. I have been grinding out games in Ultra SF4 to work on all my fundamentals. I can tell by my lack of experience I'm going to have to work 10x as hard to stay afloat. Luckily in injustice my record was just about even so I feel as that should help me in the beginning stages of the game. I plan on maining two characters, and I have tried to contact various top players through twitter for some advice, but no response, that is why I'm asking here.

Some additional info: I will be streaming the hell out of this game as well. I really plan to get a crazy amount of matches in. I don;t know how to discover useful "tech" so that is another disadvantage. How does one become a "lab monster?" I'm also representing a team so I really plan on being a threat. Maybe not winning, but I feel i have the ability to turn some heads, but I have to be able to put in the work, and put in the work to succeed as well.

To be honest I am trying to get in the tournament scene too, and the biggest advice I personally get it grind it out, play a lot of games against good local players, spar a lot, and recognize that you WILL get your ass kicked in any tournament, acknowledge that at first you won't make it very far, I know it isn't the happiest of advice but it is some of the best, you have to start from somewhere, start by learning from your losses and studying how the opponent plays, find out how you got bodied and how you can avoid that

What I would recommend to you is the still thing I am doing.

  • Pick 2 Main Characters.
  • Learn as many match-ups online as you can with those 2 characters.
  • When EVO Brackets get Announced / Posted, find out what player plays what character.
  • GRIND GRIND GRIND those match-ups.
That is what I did for EVO 2012 and I made it to Winners Finals / Losers Finals.

But since this is going to be the first EVO for MKX I would really only use 1 character but have a 2nd to cover the horrible match-ups.

Well I have my fingers crossed that super arcade will be up and running soon and I know Aris and Tyrant both frequented SA for Wednesday night fights

I have always loved fact I have been to one MLG torney in my life.Its was in Raleigh NC.I did not entry the torney I meet all the major players ,and was one of best experience of my life. I learned alot at the torney.Reo won. I studied MK9 and still learning stuff.I have ranked up.MK10 pratice pratice ask questions play the best.That how you get better watch onlIne matches study study.Just like anything in life.Time and effort pratice competive edge.
