I was kinda underwhelmed, but he's never been a character to set any standards

what exactly does his dualist thing do? I get he has the weird black projectiles, but what's he doing when he brings up his circles?

Light mode he basically shoots fast projectiles that hit, and he can hold this 'stance' like Bruce Lee that heals over time. Also when he lets go, it exudes a burst or something.

Pulled from this scene (2:05):

Dark mode, the projectiles can pass through the opponent and explode after a certain amount of time. You can hold it though and the longer you charge it, the faster it will explode. Looks nice for mid-combo setups.

Liu kang this time around is VERY inspired by Bruce Lee... Has his walk animations, does his taunt with the flick of his nose...Just in general very obviously redirected in such a way that emulates the overall speed and brute force that Bruce Lee was known for. I am a big fan of that.

Plus on block.
Well, Liu has the only revenant costume I like.

Still mad that they didn't give him a shirtless costume(I know he gets one later as DLC, but it's not the same as a brand new outfit).

Marshal Law just lost his Status of the best Bruce Lee's Homage, Liu regain his throne.

Okay so I'm gonna predict his variations. They're based on what I've seen/heard elsewhere from randoms but they sound pretty cool.

Fire God - Augmented fire abilities. Fire based attacks deal additional damage. Gains a fire teleport (like Freddy's) and additional fire-based range attacks. Think of him as the new Freddy, basically...Just with fiery attacks.

Champion - Closest resemblance to Rushdown Liu Kang from MK9. His Bicycle Kick gets special properties and can meter-burn for followups.

Dark Kang - The dark magic of Quan Chi taints Liu Kang's wrath. His specials drain meter, and he gets a new grab that can drain health as well. Meter-burn drains both health and meter.

As far as age- He's gonna be a revenant most likely at first. Raised by Quan Chi, hideous looking because of his roasted ass face. Maybe he will be 'revived' and saved in some fashion though over the course of the events of the story and become youthful again. Either way, I know he is going to have several alternate looks to get those bases covered.
Pretty damn close for a speculation if you ask me.

Only thing is no teleport with the 'flame fist' variation, but he did get 'dark magic' coupled with light at least in duality. Champion was kinda spot on with Dragon's Fist haha.

I am BEYOND excited to master every variation. I feel like each one has it's own unique use... Dragon's fist will probably be my go-to due to it's utility and the fact it is basically like an improved version of MK9 Liu.. Flame Fist will be the one I use against other rushdown characters, and then Duality will be what I use against characters like Kenshi and those 'oddball' trappy characters.

I really like how his fireballs change in some way for every variation.

Seems like a really quick fighter with lots of versatility. His healing move seems like a great utility to utilize after a throw, though we saw how it turned out with Cyborg.
