SteamCo CD Jr wins Killer Instinct at King of the Monsters!

Blue Blurs for Life!
A gigantic web has been spun through Dave & Buster's in New York, where the competitors are battling it out for the right to be declared King of the Monsters! Killer Instinct has had a strong tournament running today, fueled by the many players who came out to test their skills! Notable names included G4S KT Smith, C88 Grief, GFromTheStreets, and the Evolution champion SteamCo CD Jr. Would Junior add to his glorious streak of tournament victories, or would it be ended by the rise of a new terror?! Only today's tournament could answer that question!

The entire tournament was set to run at a 3/5 format for every match, including pools and all finals, thus assuring us of plentiful hype for Killer Instinct. And sure enough, things begin to get crazy going into the Loser's Bracket. @G4S KT Smith channels the power of the Tiger Spirit to plow his way through many combatants while overcoming insane odds, until he came across C88 GRIEF. After losing two games to the queen of web-slinging, KT stands up and bellows, "The comeback starts here!"

Unfortunately for him, his opponent puts him into a state of grief (pun not intended) and advances to Grand Finals for a rematch with @CD jr. When his attempts to outdo Junior in the Sadira mirror fail, Grief places his hopes in the fearsome Sabrewulf, only to succumb 0-3 to the beast before him.

First Las Vegas, and now New York have fallen under the reign of CD Jr! We extend our congratulations to this warrior for adding to his victory streak! Full results seen below.

The event was broadcast live via Kombat Network's Twitch TV channel, and they currently have Ultra Street Fighter 4 coming up next, to be followed by Injustice: Gods Among Us. You can tune in to see the rest of the event at www.twitch.tv/kombatnetwork!

Mmm...
I'm not a good KI player but what it seems watching this high level players is that they use to:
- do short combos, 1 chance break combo and shadow enders
- especially with Sadira, use the multi-openers jump cancel combo while in instinct

This bypass the rule of the combo system and all became very boring to watch.
However, I know, they play for win...

I hope that season 2 adjust these mechanics in some way and remove the jump-cancel in instinct for Sadira and maybe we can see more interesting match from KI tournament.
