8 9 10 are debatable with characters like jax, liu kang, reptile could take those places. kabal, kenshi, kung lao,freddy, cyrax, sonya, skarlet are all where they need to be because they are all top. kitana, cage, liu, rep, jax, smoke. all interchangeable in my opinion after the top 7

I agree. The difference between Cage, Kitana, and Reptile was less then 1 point. The difference between Cage and kitty was .1

As a matter of statistics, nobody can actually argue with this unless you think math is inaccurate. I am curios to see what would happen should every member of this community input their opinions. The dynamics of this would be fascinating in that every person has a different main, hence a different outlook. Given the multitude of possible opinion, you could definitavely nail a tier list that would reflect what the community things AS OF NOW. Even better would be to write a simple program that could make the results dynamic, to keep up with evolution, then implement an algorithm the factor in the variaence in changes, etc. I think this is about the only way an actual tier list could be calculated. This experiment is really cool, and I think it worked.

Standard deviation was added so we can better see the differences between individual votes. Kabal was by far and large the #1 lol.


The lower the standard deviation the less difference between individual polled numbers.

I guess you kind of have to look at how many Skarlet players travel I suppose and are actually at tournaments. In any case I don't really care about tournament placings that much when thinking about how good a character is to be honest. I just think about the tools and factor the players completely out of it.

I don't have to argue with the statistics when I can argue with the data source. Which is the exact same problem that a tier list would have -- there are some people who genuinely have no idea what they're talking about giving their opinions. I mean, there were people putting Kitana at 5 or 6 here which is just absolutely ridiculous. And yea, while that's just, like, my opinion, man, any top player with half of a brain knows how ridiculous that notion is.

I think 8 is a good spot for Smoke, he's the last character who can hang with most of the cast without being overly dominated in more than one matchup. The ones below him are either lackluster or have a handful of horrendous MUs.

Added Median and mode so everyone can better understand just how close the bottom order is. If I added reptile in, you would see how close he was to being top 10.

I would just take Kitana out of the top 10 and replace it with Reptile, Jax or liu Kang tho, other than that its fine.

I dont agree with your notion that a certain sect have a more valid opinion when dealing with what was obviously advertised as a comminity list.

Skarlets all wrong. Switch Kung Lao with Skarlet and it looks right.

Kitana is still a Top 10 character.

Remove Skarlet and put in Reptile in the list then it's good to go.

Without Reptile in that list, it proves the Reptile downplayers were right all along he is not Top 10 by votes!

Kabal as is and will always still be #1, nothing will ever change it except a gamebreaking patch.
