Instrumental Music Thread

Instrumental's pretty broad man. You talking about anything with no lyrics?

More to come!

Here are a few songs to check out that are instrumental and some that are 99% instrumental minus a vocal line in the very beginning or coming in at the end:

Phish - 2001 (cover), Buried Alive, First Tube, Divided Sky, Frankenstein (cover)
Les Claypool and the Flying Frog Brigade - Whammola
Led Zepplin - Moby Dick

Depends on your definition of instrumental.

When I'm in that kind of mood to get pumped up.

When I feel FUCKING METAAAAAAAAAAAAL lol

when I'm in a floyd kind of mood. It all depends on what you mean my man..

Hall of the Mountain King + Apocalyptica = epic

Why wasn't Rush a strictly instrumental band? Cannot stand Geddy Lee's voice. Great bassist though and the band is talented as hell.

Fucking awesome Mario Cover!

Do I win the thread? This one's required listening! :D

Because metal Tetris is awesome.

Does nobody else listen to BoC?
Boards of Canada?

This is probably their most known song...it doesn't sound like their usual stuff, but that doesn't mean they don't make good tunes.

GuamoKun maybe if they were actual canadians and not just a couple of fiends from SoCal then maybe.

There are a few songs from "Kill Bill" 1 & 2 I have to find vids for that are absolutely amazing.

<3 Instrumentals & good movie music.
Couch Tomato - I'm right there with you with The Matrix.

Playpal, let us dissect your argument...
Boards of Canada consist of brothers Mike Sandison and Marcus Eoin, born in Scotland, raised in Canada, and migrated back to Scotland.

They can be called Canadian to an extent, and named themselves after the National Film Board of Canada, which they cite as an influence.

And also SoCal people being fiends? HA. dont be jelly cuz we stylin on u

Haters:

I hardly listen to Metal these days but I do love instrumental metal bands. Just the instruments doing their shit is what I like.

I do love my Avant-Garde shit as well.

How could you hate Geddy's voice? It isn't so high pitched to where he sounds like a girl but not deep enough to sound grisly. Good inbetween.

GuamoKun lol don't take it so personal bro, I just remember reading that they were some guys from LA. Considering who else is from there: bassnectar, nosaj thing, flying lotus, glitch mob, etc, I just didn't bother checking my background info.

I dunno, honestly. Just never have; I'm sure I'd be into Rush if that weren't the case though. Certainly respect them but eh, his voice just irks me for some reason. Also, I somehow did not know of Exivious, considering that I love Cynic; I should've known of this band. Thank you sir!

They are pretty recent (2009) and are actually coming out with another album sometime next year from what I read. Which is cool since Cynic just released another EP which sounded great.
