This has already been discussed. I doubt NRS is to blame for his inclusion. Raise your pitchforks and torches to Warner Bros if you're unhappy about him being in the game.
I've read this entire thread and there is exactly ONE post claiming he's broken.
He's generic in MK universe, not absolutely.
Still think Butcher looks like it has potential to be stronger than Pretty Lady.
Liu Kang and Johhny Cage are somewhat "generic" because they're actually unoriginal at their core due to being based on other people and other archetypes. Leatherface by default is more original than the both of them to a degree as whatever inspiration he may have come from were minimal and not widespread in other characters in his inception.
I'm relaxed. Just pointing out that no one should be 100% upset with NRS in any way as they made it clear in an interview before that if it were up to them, more MK characters would have made it in the game as DLC.
I'll have to watch again this afternoon but with Leatherface universal Shinnok-like advancing low armor with what looks to be one of the best projectile games in MKX, Lady is gonna be a problem for even Quan on paper.
Yeah people seem to think devs have absolute power over the money machine in these types of situations. It's almost always the publishers/people who own them who want to squeeze out profit in less than respectable ways. At least with game of this scale.
Brian Chard said in an interview that if it was up to him he would have more MK characters, I don't think that reflects NRS as a whole. They probably had a hand in choosing Leatherface.
Yeah , both of them have unique and cool mechanics in the form of pursuit and resurrection. Both add flare and make sense for the character. Pretty lady is not only lame , but also makes zero sense considering the personality of the character.
I'm not ruling that out. They could have had a handful of characters that were proposed to them from Warner Bros to pick and that's who they picked. All I was really saying is that this wasn't 100% NRS' fault like some folks are making it out to be.

Sorry, but that's some vague reasoning. Unstoppable/Relentless have basically the same moves and the same gameplan. The moves being cool to you specifically, or to anyone, doesn't add diversity. I might think Pretty Lady is cool and adds flare. That doesn't add anything substantial.
