Plus on block.
It's like this with any game really.

That's why it's good to take breaks, a day or a few, and get back into it.

It's also good to not do everything as fast as you can.

There's a lot of stuff in this game I haven't looked up or done yet, and I haven't even tried out every character yet.

I'm taking my time with it and not playing it every day or hours on end, so it's still fun and fresh for me and probably will be for a while much like MK9 and Injustice were.

I loved MK9, hated Inj and really like MKX but I can't help but feel like this game is way two dimensional. Like its fun but also gets repetitive and boring after a while.

I've been playing many dif chars but after a week or two I switch to another one because it just stops being fun to me.
Subz and Kung Jin feel boring to me now, I had fun with Quan chi, and now I've been playing Kenshi for about a week and it still fun but not as much anymore. Cassie feels more fun, I'll practice her bnbs later.

I never felt this way about MK9, in fact I kinda miss playing it... Maybe it's because it lacks strong defensive tools? Maybe because its all about 50/50s? Idk what do you guys think?

Keep in mind I usually play long sets. 5-9hours straight!!!
I agree but can't totally relate as I played the shit outta Injustice and never got tired of it. I'm so sick of 50/50 throw techs in this game. That is honestly the #1 thing I hate in this game (besides the netcode). If I tech a throw I don't want to have to guess a 50/50, I want to just press throw when they do like every other game!

I miss catwoman...

Oddly enough I feel just the opposite for the most part, I have had the game since launch and still am not bored. I will admit once I play a certain character for a while over and over without changing it up I get a craving to pick up another, but that's not really bad since I have fun learning the characters. I finally got around to picking up Ermac a few days ago and am having an absolute blast with him.

just find the character you like instead of just using top tier characters unless your playing to win or if money is on the line but yeah it might bring the fun back into the game for you

I was talking to my boy @RM AtK! about this. Back when mk9 was out, I was a deadbeat. I'd go to work thinking about mk9, come home and promise to do dishes then suddenly it was 3am and I'd go to bed with nasty old chicken sitting in the sink and shit, just to wake up and do the same thing the next day. Weekends? Forget it. I was on MK9 at 8am and would play all day long. Talk shit in koths, baby limbo free with jade, etc.

MKX? I lab for a while, get on and play some games, then I'm like man I'm bored I should go do some dishes. Then I do dishes and hang out with my wife and kid for a bit, change diapers, troll on Twitch and TYM for a minute then I go to bed by 11pm. What is happening to me? Am I getting older and more responsible? No fucking way; it's just that there's only so much leveling up you can do in this game by yourself.

In MK9 I would lab for hours upon hours and play online for sooooo long. On vita, I could take like 3 hour shits while playing mk9 ranked lmfao. Sadly, those days are over.

Is Ed Boon making this game boring af on purpose to make me into a better man? I mean, my relationship with wife and family has never been better, but there's just a part of me that feels empty when I'm not wasting my life away playing a game that I love, ya feel me? Like sure, remembering to text my mom happy birthday is cool and all, but it's nothing compared to zoning the fuck outta someone with instant air fans with Kitana then teabagging the fuck outta them before babying them. *Sigh*, those were the days...

I've kept things fresh by learning everyone and playing a ton of different characters. When I run sets, I switch every match - or just run two games at a time with the same character. It's kind of left me a jack of all, but master of none player - but the game remains very entertaining to me.

Unless you're a pro level player, this is probably the best way to approach the game.

As my status currently says, I've never felt more bi-polar over a video game than I have with MKX. It's almost like my emotions have become a 50/50 because of this game.

I like MKX, but it's definitely not the crack that MK9 was to me. My first guess for this is that because it is so centered around 50/50, rushdown/then mixup style gameplay that it doesn't really leave a whole a lot of room open for different playstyles. Also with the game being so 50/50 heavy, that naturally reduces the thinking involved to open someone up or win a match in general. It also doesn't help that jumping is for the most part less punishable than it was in MK9, it's as if the game is missing an entire feature because of this. Why attempt to bait jump-ins when for many characters, you get an uppercut at best, and you'll probably just end up trading with it anyway.

When I play a competitive game, I want to think, I want to feel as if I outsmarted the other player, that's where the enjoyment in competitive games comes for me, MKX just doesn't feel like a thinking man's game to me. I typically feel no sense of reward or accomplishment, win or lose. It's partially the reason I play Takeda because I feel I have to actually work harder than many other characters to actually do well.

If you were to ask me again, tomorrow, I'd probably tell you how much I love this game and can't stop playing it.

help plz.

I think it happens when you hit a plateau.. I kinda thought it was something that just happened in every fighting game every few months. Once you feel your pregression has halted.. it kinda gets boring ..but that's when you have to find someone who pisses you off. No joke. Find someone who you just can't beat and grind into them todeath until you start winning matches and force yourself to learn and grow. This has pretty much happened to me in every fighting game and its usually new tech that gets me out of my rut.

Tech seems hard to come by in this game. Was Injustice this slow to start up?

Actually tbh, I skipped out on inj .. so I kinda saved myself from the horror stories I heard about that but I'm talking more of any kind a of tech.. even stuff as small new match up info to things as extreme as game changing . Example... I was on my last last nerve with Dr strange in marvel and I kid you not, the very day I was about to join the Dante bandwagon , the flames loop dropped... Once I saw that tech I felt like I was vegeta finally going SSJ ... It was my time...Lol

But yeah .. seeing which character we are fighting for, our tech is few and far between.. and even then we are grabbing at scraps..
