i really don't like streamers that have viewers and followers that make money off of streaming and the such complain about getting the same questions over and over again. i used to work for unitedhealthcare doing claims and sales of medicare for old people. have you ever had an Indian (from india, sorry not trying to be racist) try to communicate intricate claim details to you over the phone in a loud call center 8 hours a day? PLUS having to repeat yourself to old people trying to do an online application over the phone and their hearing aid fucks up?? i ultimately resigned to focus on school this semester but lbsh i lost my mind working there i have no sympathy for streamers who get to play video games and make money either by subs, donations or ad views.
lol i'd pay to watch zoofox cold call old people

" what's up grandma, it's ur boi yung zoofox here. im calling to inform u of buffs takeda needs this next patch..."

One of the dumbest analogies I've ever heard. Are we all bandwagon because we dropped MK9 and Injustice for MKX because it's the hot new game? No. It's the fucking hot new game....so everyone is playing it. Max has hundreds of thousands of followers. Why would we NOT want to expose them to our game?

Max has an obvious deep love for fighting games and that's clear. Everyone is salty because he gets tons of viewers. Maybe he seems more likable and friendly and down to earth than some of the "elite" players. Most of all...the dude has fun. I watched Chris G's stream last week and it was unbearable. All the dude did was bitch and moan about how shitty this character was and how shitty every person was that he played against.
Max has a good persona, but a good chunk of people don't like him because they think panders and only plays the hot new fighters when they are new and drops them later. I mean look at what he did with smash. Max is a bandwagon fan of fights outside anything Capcom created. He is a good business man though, and right now Max is kind on the outs with me. I wanna like him, but I'm starting to see the writing on the wall with him.

also about your other point about Mk9, injsutice, and etc. no we didn't bandwagon on those games we just moved on. Let me define bandwagon for you. Bandwagon or better yet a bandwagon fan is someone not from the state or the fan of the past of what a team has done. They start cheering for them and buying their merch when the team is winning. Most recent example of this is the Seattle Sehawks and Chicago Blackhawks.

Exactly max hyped up guilty gear then mention how hard it was and then drop it. He did the same many other fighters more often. And if SF5 was to be release next 5 months I guarantee he will drop MKX. I also never heard him talk about MK till MKX was announce.

Pick up & kill it & kill it & kill it!
CDjr's stream from last night was 5x as entertaining as any of the KI's stream I used to watch from Max, and he was showing some pretty neat stuff about option selects. So it IS possible to be both entertaining and informative while streaming, but I can still see where PL is coming from.

He was out of line for putting Justin in the same sentence with Max and whoever that Tru3 guy is, but other then that specific point he made about them I don't see anything wrong with what he said. Hell, some of you would still be blowing him up even if he hadn't mentioned those guys at all. I don't understand how you can just hate on another person that you've never met personally. Yeah PL does stupid shit, but you're negative feelings toward him only adds more fuel to the fire.

I don't even know how PL does it, because if I was a former two-time EVO champion for MK9 that so far has had very little success in MKX, knowing everybody will hate on me and try to blow me up no matter what I do and have a constant target placed on me, I would have cracked a long time ago.
That's the point. People will always witch hunt, even if they don't have a good reason to. Whether it be him, Sonic Fox, CDjr or whoever, they'll always find something to capitalize off of to make another person look bad. It's no different than people posting hatemail or a video of a salty bum who gets mad about losing. Yet, if the shoe was on the other foot, it's not funny anymore then, is it? Or if him or others did retaliate by putting people on blast, it wouldn't be funny anymore & that would give them yet another reason to go after him when they started it. It's just best to let this thing die. He made an apology letter, but I bet people didn't bother to read that, did they? That right there should be the end of it.

I'm not defending anything he did, I even disagree with it, but I didn't go & share it with everyone because it only fuels people to bash him & campaign. Yet, you have a bunch of people who's never even met the guy in person, but still hate him no matter what he does lol. PL's issue should be PL's issues & not everybody else's.

I actually enjoy Carl's stream and there were many fun times especially when he was playing Five Nights at Freddy. I understand his frustration with how Max and Wong has all these viewers and aren't dedicated hard core MK fans. Hell, when ESL was streaming, Wong still had more views which was mind boggling. I seriously think MKX was the best thing to happen to Wong stream.

He obviously just frustrated which is fine, he is just human.I do think it was messed up someone leaked his email when it was just exclusively for his subscribers. Plus he already apologize.

Um, nah. He made it everybody else's issue when he posted a letter to all of his twitch subscribers belittling other streamers.

Please stop acting like this was a spare the moment rage outburst on stream or something like that, no, he took the time to write a big letter to quite a lot of people. This was calculated. I'm sure he had plenty of time to reflect on what he was doing while he was writing all of it. He's only "sorry" because of the backlash he has rightfully received.

I'm not. I posted at the bottom of my last post that said "I disagree with it". Please, do not put words in my mouth. And yes, what I'm saying is a fact. People will bash other people no matter what.

You're also acting like everyone is actively looking to bash him, which is not the case at all. He's the one who draws negative attention to himself. He paints giant targets on himself by doing ridiculously stupid things like this, and then acts the victim when it comes back to him. People will not "bash other people no matter what", people will bash other people when they insult other people and undermine other people for no reason. And I'm not putting any words in your mouth, I was making reference to the fact that you keep making ridiculous comparisons that aren't comparable to what he did at all.

It was a private email that was only meant for people who subscribed to his channel. He has only shared information in the past and stated many times it's only for subscribers. That was the one of the benifits of subscribing to his channel, he will share private information with you. And I think it's messed up someone leaked that letter. He felt he should share his thought to just the subscribers if they where wondering why he hasn't stream as much.

I mean at least his apology was sincere, and hopefully that is enough to lay that to rest. I'm sure we all want PL to return to form, he is a hype player. If he feels streaming has cut into that, then that is an obstacle he had to get rid of.

Just the initial letter did not sound that way, but he at least made the effort to say: "Yeah, I fucked up."

However, I do see why people would think of him to come off the way that he does. I don't agree with what he posted, either, but it's really none of my business, so I didn't pay it any mind like everyone else did. I thought it came off as uncool & unnecessary, but I still didn't post about it to anyone because all it would do is rile up a bashing campaign & then rally which side that you on. It probably won't mean anything to people here, but he did make a note of apology. Like I said, I'm not defending him, or any other Top player. I'm just stating the fact that they're human, too

You want to know why JR and PL and everyone besides Max, Tru and Jwong don't have 5-25k viewers?

2 words. Ranked Matches.

The top players with the exception of JWong don't do that shit because it messes with their offline game. Justin plays the game for fun so he doesn't care.

The casual audience (The 5-25,000 viewers that show up) are there to see noobs get steamrolled. That's all they're interested in.

If you want viewers, get your ass in the player v player ranked matchmaking queue. Its that simple.

PS - Chef has started doing ranked on his stream and what do you know, he went from 20 viewers to 900-1100 in 1 day. Level up and tech on your own time. The masses don't want to see that.

Lol wow, never heard about this until today....

Just saying, maybe Max's fans donate more to him because hes genuinely fun to watch on stream and is a pretty cool guy, he also tries his best to interact with each and every viewer he has (which is impossible lol)

Most ppl watching streams are casuals, they don't care what kind of big hot shot pro u are, they want to watch and interact with fun streamer(s)

How the hell was that apology in anyway sincere

"Yo I'm misunderstood I respect you guys"

"Hey Max I'm disgusted you ahve more views than me & just take advantage of MK being hot"

Get outta here

You're right. I'm a PL fan. I understand and can even relate to his frustrations, but the comments were a bad look. He could easily pull big numbers with the tools he's been given.

I read the apology, as did many others, but somehow I don't think people "misunderstood" the 5th paragraph of the original letter. He was outright bashing them, and even went as far as to say it made him "sick to his stomach".

He apologized because he had no choice. I'm not saying he isn't sorry, but he could have at least used a different word (or better yet, apologise directly to Justin, Max, and TrueTalent). Nobody misunderstood anything about what he said. It was very clear.

I think it has the most to do with what is done in the stream... Average person likes ranked... And people sporting crazy memes...
I don't get the people who throw hundreds of dollars at Max or draw him pictures and shit but hey I can't knock the hustle... He isn't married to the game... If he plays something else eventually I'm not going to defenestrate him....
If PL's grand plan was to make $ from streaming he is years too late to start that ball rolling... If not quit bitching about stuff that dont matter... Their $ is not your $... Worry about yours

Not going to say much -- except that we should honestly be happy that Max and JWong are bringing thousands of viewers to the game. I remember a few years ago when we were scraping by just to get a thousand viewers at tournaments; and by now, the scene is growing in a major way, and it's partly due to guys putting a spotlight on the game.

If people are smart, they'll take advantage of the opportunity and make friends instead of enemies. What Pig is doing with the Armory is a good example.

Yeah having someone with that many eyes on them who are prominently showcasing the game is great... Also although I don't think they would having someone like Max say I like the game but the community sucks and top players are talking trash could do major damage to what we would like to do in growing the scene...
